Are you sure kid...
My last task of the year for my English 102 class is a five page paper on college tuition. Over the course of constructing this paper alot of thoughts and facts played on my mind. The most important fact I gained from doinig this paper is that, going to college has to be something that you really want to do and once you make the decision to go to college, if you want to be successful you have to be passionate about it. You have to be focused and you have to be really concerned about each and every class as well as each and every grade you make. If not then basically you are setting yourself up for either a very prolonged college career, or failure to even complete college all together. The is a saying that states "college is not for everybody." Through reasearch I have found this statement to be very true. If everyone that graduated from high school went to college and gained a college degree, there would be tooo many certified people and not enough jobs to compensate for thier skills. There would be major competition for jobs and this could have negative effects to buisnesses and society. The value of a college degree lessens with each person that attains one. Therefore those without college degrees are helping the ones with degrees look better. Vice versa, if those people without degrees did have a degree then how special do the people that already had degrees look to a person in a position of power? I wont say that I am the most committed student at USM, but I do care....about MONEY! I would love to get a degree from this school and go off and work for another thirty or forty years earning a set salary with benefits, but I realized the passion for school is not with me at all. I have felt like I have been wasting my time in college for like everyday I have been enrolled after the first week of my freshman year. My parents do not know how I feel about school, and they see this as a golden oppurtunity to advance in life and blah blah blah. It is not for me and I can not make myself want to be a student any longer. I tried and I only think about money so I will take another route to go get it. Im not saying that I am dropping out of college forever and I will never sit in another classroom again in my life. I just feel like at this point in my life I should be doing something else. This college has been around for 100 years and I dont think its going anywhere because I decided to leave. Im still young and tommorrow is not promised....and gas is 3.57. Im going to do what I am going to do and it was fun while it lasted.
It always happens....
Why is it that when the end of the semester rolls around you feel drainnned and only want to get away from school for the short two month break we call summer? It does not matter if you take only one 3 hour course or if you do it big and take six or seven courses that equal up to 18 hours. Any little task like for instances, writing a new blog, seems to take all of your energy, focus and concentration. I think its just the fact that we are aware that the end is near and we want out! The last week of school is always the worst, because we are tired of school and sooooo much is riding on our last exams. You can pass a class or fail a class in the last week of school. This piece of info is also known by most of the student body and right around finals time the pressure intensifies. Maybe its the weather's fault...It gets warm outside, all of the pools around campus look nice and cool, ice cream and popcicles, short skirts and even smaller tops (GIRLS CLOTHING ONLY), and etc. I personally have to dig extra deep when this time of the year approaches and I think I open up my bible more than ever during the last week of school!

Lost possession
Ok I did not see this coming. I always come home to my room, whenever I decide to go home. By the way, my hometown happens to be three hours and thirty minutes away from Hattiesburg. My hometown is in the heart of the delta, the delta is in north Mississippi, and I live in a town in called Greenville. I begin to notice earlier in past semesters that one of my two younger brothers was slowly moving into my old bedroom at home. I didnt mind because I was now a resident of Hattiesburg and whenver I did come home I got my old room back and my younger brother would return to his room. Well I decided to go home this past Easter weekend and I arrived in Greenville very late Saturday night. While I was on the road I texted my younger brother to alert him that I was coming home. Ok let me go back and explain why I made it home so late Saturday night. I embarked on my journey to the delta with a fellow classmate from highschool that happens to live in here in Hattiesburg also Saturday night. We did not leave Hattiesburg until like nine o' clock due to unexplained reasons. I didnt ask and my classmate didnt tell. So once we were on the road in route to the delta, we had a blowout about thirty miles up highway 49. My classmate was driving his car which happens to be a 97 Honda Accord in fairly decent shape. This was not an unusual occurrence tough, people have blowouts all the time and it is just another feature of owning a vehicle. My classmate had a spair tire so that made the situation seem hopeful. Then we dug around his truck and found a jack, another plus. Then unfortunately our luck ran out, because my classmate didnt have a crowbar anywhere in his car. Anyhow, we didnt expect to be on the side of the road for two hours and fifteen minutes waiting on roadside assistance but thats excatly what happened. After the guy got there he whipped on the spare tire and we rolled up 49 the rest of the way home problem free. We arrived in Greenville approximately around three o' clock a.m. I had my house key, but my youngest brother proped open the door before I could even pull them out of my pocket. I was wondering what he was doing up this late and once I asked he told me that my other brother had told him to let me in when I arrived. I thanked and greeted him and then I walked to my room where I found my other brother sleep in my bed! I woke him up and told him to allow me to have my space and he told me to go get on the couch because I did not live there anymore! I would have threw him out, but I didnt want to wake my mother and I was exausted from our adventure to the delta. I took the loss and went and got into his bed instead. What a night.

Spring Break...when?
Spring break was not actually a break at all for me. I did not have any classes and that was about the only good thing about my spring break. I stayed in Hattiesburg the entire time and I worked everyday of the break except for Tuesday and Sunday. Enterprise, being a rental car company, gets most of its businness during holidays and breaks. I got up at 7 o' clock everyday I had to be at work. I enjoyed my break though, because while I was working I was satisfied when I realized I would not have any homework or any papers to write when I got off. We did get really busy over spring break and I did get frustrated from time to time listening to some customers brag about where they were headed for their spring break. I know that I will get a vacation someday and until then complaining about missing spring break will not make me any happier. I accept this spring break 2008 as a loss, but its kool there is always next year. Que/delta week is coming up next week and that is the biggest party week hosted by any sorority or fraternity at USM. I will make up for spring break and some more if everything goes as planned! I had loads of fun last year at my first que/delta week, although I dont really remember it.
The J O B
I have not been on here in quite some time now and I have alot of ground to cover. I am fastly approaching a whole dollar raise at my job. I have been an employee at Enterprise for eight months now and after these next four months I will get my raise. I am really looking foward to this raise because my job is starting to become a pain! I get up and go to work before my classes start and then I return to work after my classes are over. Im not a work-a-holic or anything, but I do have this big fetish with American currency. I also have bills to pay so I have to work. My job title is a car prep. I keep all of the cars we have at our branch cleaned up and ready to be rented. We have and automatic car wash at our branch so my job is not difficult at all. I also go pick people up from either their homes, airports, other enterprise branches, body shops, service shops, their jobs, camp shelby, or anywhere else they happen to be located when they call us. I give people rides back home as well once they return our cars to us, if they need a ride. I have never had an accident on the job and I have made a decent name for myself in our company. I have thought about joining the Enterprise team after graduation, but who knows what the future has in store for a young, multi-talented, heart throb like myself!

My bright idea
I thought that a persuassive essay would be the perfect type of essay for everyone to write. In this paper, you are trying to sell something and throughout the course of the essay you have to advertise and inform the customer. Also describe what you are selling, and let the customer know facts and what not. The purpose of the essay is to try to get the person reading to want to buy whatever it is that you are selling.

WTF?!
I went to my college algebra class today for the first time this semester. I missed this class the first week of school, because I didnt enroll into any classes until Wednesday and this particular class only meets once a week on Mondays. The week after the first week of school was a holiday so we did not have class. The week after this week I was stuck at work and by the time I was able to get to campus class was over. Then the following week I could not find the classroom and I just gave into my frustration and deciced not to go. Next week came up and we had a mardi gras break which meant class was not goin to meet again. Finally I made it to the class today, a little late, but once I sat down I felt a lot better about being absent for a month. I waited around after class until all the students had left to go and ask the professor about how much work I had missed while being away for a month. The professor told me I had missed an exam and some smaller homework and quiz-like material. Once I heard her say I missed an exam I immediately knew I was going to drop this class instead of my ENGLISH 102 class! I heard a voice of reasoning in my head and I then told the professor that I didnt want to drop her course and if there was anything that I could do to make up the work that I missed. I now have a meeting tommorrow morning to try to attempt to save my college algebra class.
My new apartment
I moved into a new apartment complex called the Peppertree apartments yesterday. My new location is off of 7th street on north 28th street. The Peppertree complex is red brick with dark green accents and trimming. These apartments are townhouses and I always wanted to have a home with stairs! I share my new apartment with my older cousin. We chose to move into the Peppertree apartment building, because they were the first complex to allow us to move in out of the thirty previous apartments we had inquired about. I have not met any of our neighbors, and so far the area seems to be pretty peaceful. We have a pool and our apartment came with a washer and a dryer. The only downsides to our new home that I hve come across so far are parking problems. There is only one parking spot available for each two-bedroom apartment building! However there is a visitors parking area about a half a mile away that is open to all tenants! I cant complain though, Im satisfied and I cant wait for this weekend to get here so I can fully break my apartment in!

Last night!!
It was a normal Friday night last night. It was cold out I think the temperature was around thirty-three degrees. It was also raining which made it feel a lot more warmer. I made it home from work around 6:40. When I opened the front door to my apartment I was greeted by thick smoke traveling from our kitchen. My roommates were attempting to cook some type of expensive steak meal called fillet mignon along with mushrooms and mashed potatoes. The smell was horrible but they didn't let the aroma keep them from eating their meal. After this episode they pulled out the shot glasses and the party began. I went to take a shower and when I re-entered the living room my roommates eyes were glossy and their voices had elevated. I knew they were going out at this point so I asked were where they planning on going. Zodiac was front runner in the options for the night and about two hours and a whole bottle of brandy later my roommates were ready to head out! I stayed behind to wait for one of my homeboys. My homeboy made it to my apartment maybe thirty minutes after my roommates had left. We sat around just talking and watching the telly when all of a sudden one of my roommates came bursting through the front door. His hair was soak and wet as well as his clothes and shoes. He had his button-down oxford polo shirt open and he looked like he had just got done wrestling a small calf in a large ditch. My homeboy and I immediately asked what happened, we were expecting other roommates to come in directly behind him all in the same shape as him, and he responded to us by saying "I must be drunk." As it turned out my roommate had left the club and walked all the way back home in the rain. The rain was bad enough, but remember the temperature was around thirty-three degrees as well. My homeboy and I then proceeded to ask my roommate why he had chosen to walk home and all he could say was "I must be drunk!" Later on my other roommates came back home and I got their insight on the situation and they did not know why he left exactly either but all was well. The moral of the story is home-cooked fillet mignon and brandy prevent pneumonia!
Oh no...
I have been twenty years old now, since last Monday. So in other words my birthday was last Monday. My birthday was the highlight of last week, for me, up until two days later. It was on Thursday morning while I was in route to work, the same route that I take every morning to work, when I wrecked my truck! The accident happened on Lincoln Road. I was driving behind a Terminex truck, about a car and a half behind the truck, and I took my eyes off of the road to get my carmex out of my pocket. I must add that I consider myself a very courteous driver and I only took my eyes off the road, because I had the car and a half cushion. I didn't keep my eyes off the road long, only long enough to get my finger tips inside of my pocket. Before I could look up I had run into the rear end of the Terminex truck! I was soo shocked because I knew I had time enough to look away due to the space between the Terminex truck and I. I know Lincoln road like the back of my hand. There was not a stop light for about four blocks and no stop signs. The Terminex truck had stopped so suddenly because a car turned out in front of him and he reacted by slamming on brakes. The collision occurred so swiftly that I really didn't have time to react. After the contact with the rear end of the Terminex truck I got out to check on the other two people involved in the accident. Although my airbag was deployed I was not injured and neither was any of the other participants.
